Willow Oaks Plantation is a single member LLC property operating
under an intensive Wildlife Management Plan. Willow Oaks Plantation
is intensively managed to promote native game species and improve
wildlife conditions in general. The land is managed primarily
to improve and maintain wild Bobwhite Quail populations. The
ethics principles of the Quality Deer Management Association
are followed and promoted. Game harvest rules apply to all ages
at all times. Deer and turkey are managed to allow them to reach
full trophy potential.
We plant spring and fall crops for all our target species, including
corn, sunflower, wheat, millet, clovers, beans, and native warm
season grasses beneficial to quail. We also plant different
tree and shrub species.
In 2006, Willow Oaks Plantation was awarded the Quail Unlimited
Adopt A Covey competition for the Mid-Atlantic Region, a national
competition to showcase efforts for wild quail management. We
are certified Deer Stewards through the QDMA. We regularly consult
a certified forester and certified wildlife biologists to monitor
our progress and continually improve our habitats.
Our goal is to share this unique property with anyone who wants
to introduce wildlife management and hunting to our future generations.
